OMED - OMEDAN [Kissing Ritual of Sesetan] Bali Full HD Video

Omed-omedan adalah upacara yang diadakan oleh pemuda-pemudi Banjar Kaja, Sesetan, Denpasar yang diadakan setiap tahun. Omed-omedan diadakan setelah Hari Raya Nyepi, yakni pada hari ngembak geni untuk menyambut tahun baru saka. Omed-omedan berasal dari bahasa Bali yang artinya tarik-tarikan. Asal mula upacara ini tidak diketahui secara pasti, namun telah berlangsung lama sejak nenek moyang dan dilestarikan secara turun temurun. Omed-omedan melibatkan sekaa teruna teruni atau pemuda-pemudi yang berumur 17 hingga 30 tahun dan belum menikah. Prosesi omed-omedan dimulai dengan persembahyangan bersama untuk memohon keselamatan. Usai sembahyang, peserta dibagi dalam dua kelompok, laki-laki dan perempuan. Kedua kelompok tersebut mengambil posisi saling berhadapan di jalan utama desa. Dua kelompok Setelah seorang sesepuh memberikan aba-aba, kedua kelompok saling berhadapan. Peserta upacara ini terdiri dari 40 pria dan 60 wanita. Sisa peserta akan dicadangkan untuk tahap berikutnya. Cara omed-omedan ini adalah tarik-menarik menggunakan tangan kosong antara pria dan wanita dan disirami air. Upacara ini dilakukan hingga jam 17.00 waktu setempat.
